SanDisk today launched an 8GB SDHC flash memory card, its highest capacity to-date in the SD format. The new card comes with its own SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 card reader at no extra cost, ensuring that users will be able to connect the card to their PCs.
The new 8GB SDHC card complies with Class 2 rating, which guarantees a minimum data-transfer rate of 2MBps. SDHC cards are not backwards compatible – they will only work in devices with SDHC card slots.
The 8GB SDHC card with MicroMate USB 2.0 reader bundle will be available in April at a suggested retail price of $190.
