Ricoh is commemorating the 10th anniversary of its GR Series of 35mm compact film cameras with an 8-megapixel GR Digital camera. The limited edition designer cam will run for only 1,000 units.
For the distinctive look of the new model, Ricoh tapped the talents of Japanese illustrator Katsuya Terada. It comes with its own matching strap and lens cloth to complete the angel-designed ensemble.
Well, happy anniversary, Ricoh. Although I still could not forget that, years ago – just before the advent of digital cameras – we had this Ricoh film SLR which had a slight problem with its hit-or-miss mirror mechanism but we didn’t realize then what the problem was, and so we took hit-or-miss photos with it, and so we thought SLR’s were just too difficult to learn, and so we just stuck with our point-and-shooters, and so we never learned how to shoot with an SLR. Oh, those were the days.
But cheer up, dSLR’s are here and these are happy times. And again, Happy Anniversary, Ricoh!
