The Nikon D60 DSLR camera, which is just starting to ship in many countries, has a ready-made underwater housing for deep sea diving photography. That’s because the FD-40X housing for the Nikon D40x made by Fantasea is fully compatible with the D60. That goes true also for the full range of accessories for the FD-40X underwater housing.
Fantasea said the FD-40X housing is rated to a depth of 200 feet (60m). The main seal between front and back halves is a gasket seal. The lens port attaches with a double O-ring seal for double protection. The camera “slides†into the FD-40X housing on a specially designed tray. Once inside the housing the stainless steel latching buckles on the back door are snapped shut, sealing the system with a sound watertight seal.
The FD-40X Housing is offered at an MSRP of $1099, which includes a one-year free Flood Insurance program from D.E.P.P. while the FD-40X and FSB-800 Set is offered at an MSRP of $1,499.
