Canon UK today announced a new compact printer, the PIXMA iP100, for document and photo printing. The iP100 allows fine borderless printing of 4×6 photos with up to 9600×2400 dpi resolution in under a minute (50 seconds).
For true mobility, the iP100 can be purchased with a rechargeable battery kit. According to Canon, the battery prints about 290 pages on one charge. For charging on the move, an in-car charger is also available as an option.
The new printer boasts a 5-ink system with what Canon calls Photo Black ink for enhanced photo quality and larger pigment black for superior text.
The iP100 connects to the PC via USB 2.0 and offers a PictBridge function for direct printing from compliant cameras. It also offers the convenience of wireless printing via IrDA and optional Bluetooth.
