In advance of the worldwide release of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon USA has posted the instruction manual and user guide for the camera, downloadable freely from their site.
There’s not much to be expected from an instruction manual really ( it’s in black & white) except for the detailed instructions on the camera’s use and features; if you’re among those anticipating the new 5D and thinking of buying one, then this manual is definitely for you, especially if you’re curious about how its movie recording feature works. Have a high-capacity, high-speed CF card ready with at least 8MBps read/write speed to take advantage of its full HD (1920×1080) movie capability, a slower card just won’t do.
The 6MB manual does not mention the inclusion of an HDMI cable, necessary for playing back your HD movie on an HDTV monitor, but the $2700 (body only) Canon EOS 5d Mark II package includes a stereo video cable, strap, battery, charger, USB interface cable, 2 CDs containing software and a pocket guide.
The new 5D should be shipping worldwide towards the end of this month, touting a 21-megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor and that ground-breaking 1080p video goodness.
