AKVIS Magnifier 2.0 is now available, offering an efficient tool to increase image resolution and featuring advanced photo resizing algorithms. You want to make a poster-size print of a cropped photo that’s short on resolution? Akvis Magnifier is the software to try.
The program is available as a plug-in to a photo editor like Photoshop, as well as a standalone edition. The new version added support of image editing in Lab mode. Print dialog has also been added to the standalone edition (they forgot this must-have feature in earlier editions?).
Akvis said Magnifier allows resizing images without loss in quality. The algorithm keeps edges smooth, sharp and clearly defined, while improving image appearance by removing unwanted noise and compression artefacts.
Akvis Magnifier 2.0 retails for $129. There’s also a fully functional free trial version valid for 10 days.
