The latest lens from Tokina is the AT-X 165 PRO DX 16-50mm f/2.8 zoom lens, a standard lens for digital SLR cameras with APS-C sensors.
It’s a constant-aperture f/2.8 16-50mm midrange zoom lens whose wide and bright aperture may find use in nature and portrait photography. It may also be appreciated by photojournalists who like wide aperture that allows faster shutter speeds in low-light conditions or a more shallow depth of field.
With the AT-X 165 Pro DX 16-50mm f/2.8, the photographer can quickly switch from manual to autofocus by snapping the focus ring towards or away from the camera body. Note however that since the lens relies on the host camera’s AF motor, autofocus does not work on the Nikon D40.
