Sony also announced today two new zooms to go with their new Alpha DSLR cameras, the SAL2470Z which offers a wide angle 24-70mm zoom with a large f/2.8 aperture and the SAL70300G 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G lens.
The SAL2470Z lens is constructed of 17 elements in 13 groups with two aspheric elements and two extra-low dispersion elements and touts excellent contrast and center-to-edge resolution.
The SAL70300G lens is constructed of 16 elements in 11 groups, with one extra-low dispersion element to offer superb contrast and sharpness across its wide focal length range, according to Sony.
Both lenses are driven by Sony’s Super Sonic wave Motor (SSM) technology for silent and highly accurate focusing.
The SAL2470Z 24-70mm f/2.8 ZA lens will be available for $1750 while the SAL70300G 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G lens will have a price tag of $800. Both will ship this spring.
