Panasonic Introduces Lumix G Fisheye 8mm/F3.5 Lens

Panasonic has announced the new H-F008 Lumix G Fisheye 8mm/F3.5 lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The new lens has a 180-degree diagonal angle view. With a 2X crop factor, that 8mm translates to 16mm wide angle view in the Micro Four Thirds standard.

Inside its compact size, the H-F008 contains ten lenses in nine groups, which takes advantage of the Micro Four Thirds system standard to achieve dramatic downsizing.

The company said adoption of an ED (Extra-low dispersion glass) lens achieves a stable, descriptive performance at all distances, to minimize chromatic aberration and distortion. It adds that the LUMIX G Fisheye 8mm lens has the ability to capture extreme close-ups from far away, due in part to its advanced inner focus system.
