Light Crafts Releases LightZone 2.0

LightZone 2.0

LightZone 2.0, quite expensive at $two-five-oh, has been released. Software maker Lightcraft says this is a fully integrated all-in-one photo browser and editor for digital and film photographers; it’s a cross-platform image editor based on the Zone System.

And what is the Zone System? I don’t know. Let’s ask people who do.

“There are new tools in the latest version of LightZone including the Color Cast tool, Color Balance tool and a Histogram Preview,” says Lightcraft.

Those who bought Lightzone v1.x may download the update for free. Those who know what the photographic Zone System is, please hit the comment button.

    You’re kidding right?

    This is from wikepedia.

” The zone system is a unique approach to film exposure and development invented by Ansel Adams and Fred Archer in 1939 or 1940. The zone system provides photographers with a systematic method of precisely defining the relationship between the way they see the photographic subject and the results they achieve in their finished works. In a sense, the zone system plays the same role that color management does for digital photographers. It allows for a direct correlation between the visual world and the final photographic print.”
