Jerusalem-based ClassifEye specializes in the electronic transaction authentication and signature industry. They have developed a fingerprint authentication technology for use in mobile phones equipped with cameras to prevent identity theft.
This is useful if you use your mobile phone to transact business – toll fees in expressways, pay for coffee, pay for shoes, withdraw cash at ATMs, send money to me – and ClassifEye assures that nobody can spoof your identity. Only you can use it, nobody else.
To use it, you first have to download the ClassifEye software into your camera phone. Then you take a picture of your finger using the same camera phone. The software authenticates the user’s fingerprint and authorizes immediate access to the phone.
The whole thing takes less than a minute and you don’t need to enter or remember a password. This technology is even more secure than a password, according to ClassifEye.
They explain it more fully in their website, but be ready for a load of technical jargon.
