Adobe Reader 8 Takes Over from Vulnerable Version 7

Adobe Reader 8

Adobe Reader 8 has been released, touting collaboration features through a new Start Meeting button. Adobe has also redesigned Reader’s interface and added a loupe for zooming in on specific areas of a PDF document.

The free Reader 8 offers integration with Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server and the new Adobe Online Services Document Center, which enables users to digitally sign PDF files. There is also a built-in a basic RSS reader into version 8, along with new review and markup tools.

You may download it from here.

The new version was released Tuesday Dec. 5 following news last week of an Acrobat exploit in IE which could allow malicious hackers to use Adobe’s Reader and Acrobat software to launch PC hijack attacks. Coincidence? I think not.
