£10,000 (about $20,000) await the grand prize winner of the first ever Landscape Photographer of the Year contest in the United Kingdom. It’s part of the “Take a View†photo competition launched recently by British landscape photographer Charlie Waite in cooperation with the Automobile Association.
The competition is open to everybody in the UK, whether resident or simply visiting, as long as the images are of the British Isles. It offers various categories for adults and children, allowing for a wide variety of styles and subjects.
And, as is increasingly becoming the norm these days, there are entry fees to be paid to participate in the photofest. Adults will pay £7 for one entry, or £25 for up to 15 entries. Youth entries will be £5 for one entry and £20 for up to 15 entries.
A book of the winning entries will be launched by AA Publishing at the opening of the Take a View exhibition at the National Theatre on London’s South Bank. Go visit www.take-a-view.co.uk for details. Deadline for entries is May 31, 2007.
