It’s called the My Book Pro Edition II External Storage System and it uses RAID configurations to store data. Western Digital said My Book Pro Edition II is designed for small-office environments where large amounts of content are managed, such as groups of creative professionals with tons of digital pictures to store, as well as consumers who have highly valuable libraries of music, photos and video.
My Book uses two hard drives to store data either in RAID 1 configuration for redundant storage or RAID 0 for faster data delivery. It has a footprint of only 26 square inches, perfect for many office and home users with limited physical desk space.
For connectivity, it implements FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0.
Western Digital’s My Book Pro Edition II is now in stores and online retailers at an estimated price of $549.
