Darn! While everybody was busy gawking at new cameras in Las Vegas’ PMA 2007, somebody in China popped this hydra-headed monster of a camera with three lenses. It’s called the Tri-Lens TL-120 Stereo Camera by 3DWorld and it is equipped with three f/2.8 lenses with 80mm focal lengths.
It shoots pairs of 58 x 56mm stereo images on film which are then viewed on a hand-held stereo viewer very much like those red-colored Viewmasters back then, or viewed on a special mounting jig.
Are three lenses better than two lenses for stereo photography? I don’t know, but this sure works pretty well to provide some curious relief.
