Memory maker Transcend now has its own 8GB high-capacity SD card (SDHC) released together with the 4GB flavor.
Both cards come with a lifetime warranty. (Whose lifetime? Dunno. Maybe the card’s.) Transcend says their new SD cards are fully compatible with the popular SD 2.0 standard. This new generation of SD cards is formatted in FAT32, and can reach a maximum capacity of 32GB to meet the high-capacity demand of the new SDHC devices.
The company said the new card has a write-protect switch and supports error correcting code (ECC) and in-system programming to load firmware, all pretty standard in the SDHC generation.
Transcend is playing catch-up with Pretec who earlier announced their own 8GB cards in August.
