The QuikPod Extendable Stick

QuikPod Logo

OK, you’re in front of the Basilica in Rome and you want your picture taken, but you just can’t hand your camera over to the stranger next to you because even in this saintly place you just can’t be sure if he won’t run away with your precious digicam. What to do?

Good thing you brought your QuikPod with you. Attach your camera to one end and, with push-button convenience, it extends your hand by 3 feet more. It’s the world’s first extendable hand held tripod! Set the camera timer and you can now take a decent picture of your pretty face without asking somebody else.

Well, at least that’s how the makers of QuikPod want you to believe. Blimey! My camera focuses only at the instant its shutter button is pressed, how can it make a good focus on auto timer? Pre-focus on a face at the same distance?

Maybe I can just use this as a rather shortish monopod. Or a fighting stick.
