Sony has officially announced its new Alpha DSLR-A200, aimed squarely at entry-level SLR buyers who are looking at the Nikon D40x, Canon EOS-400D or Pentax K100D.
The new Sony A200 retains its predecessor’s (A100) 10.2-megapixel image sensor and packs Sony’s own Bionz image processor.
The A200 also features in-body Super SteadyShot image stabilization, a quieter shutter, an expanded ISO range, and a dust-reduction system. The A200K with an 18-70mm kit lens will retail for $700, while the A200W with the 18-70mm and 75-300mm lenses will sell for $900. Both will ship next month.
