Sony Canada has unveiled two new compacts, the DSC-T200 and the DSC-T70, with very attractive specs and styling.
The T200, at left in photo above, boasts an extra-large 3.5-inch 16:9 LCD touch screen, 5x zoom and 8.1 megapixels. It also claims a maximum ISO 3200 setting, VGA video at 30fps, face detection and optical image stabilization. All these in a stylish and attractive full metal body that weighs only 186g, battery and media included.
The T70, at right, also packs 8 megapixels and all of the above specs for the T200 but sports a ‘smaller’ 3.0-inch 16:9 LCD touch screen and weighs 156g with battery and memory card.
Now, get this: both cameras have a smile shutter mode that snaps a picture when it detects a smile and the touch screen can be used while taking a picture to make it focus where you want it.
There’s no pricing yet. As a matter of fact, there was no word from either Sony Japan or Sony USA about the two models; Sony Canada just quietly unveiled both products.
