SanDisk says its 4GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card is now available for $100. The 4GB M2 is compatible with Sony Ericsson’s latest generation of slim line, multimedia mobile handsets such as the Cyber-shot and Walkman series.
It’s quite tiny; the M2 measures 0.59 x 0.49 x 0.05 in. high, or 15 x 12.5 x 1.2mm, making it the second smallest flash memory media in the world, behind the microSD format, which SanDisk pioneered.
With the included Memory Stick PRO Duo adapter, M2 cards are also fully backwards compatible with all digital cameras and hand-held game players such as the Sony PlayStation Portable that have a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot.
