Ricoh is developing two more lens/sensor units for its GXR interchangeable unit camera system. The image-stabilized P10 28-300mm equivalent F3.5-5.6 VC zoom unit, with a back-illuminated CMOS sensor features RAW capture and 120 fps high-speed continuous shooting, while the other one, the A12 28mm equivalent F2.5 prime lens unit, with 12MP APS-C CMOS sensor features a faster ‘GR Engine III’ processor and manual focus ring.
The GXR is a new interchangeable unit camera system in which lenses can be changed by mounting camera units that integrate lens, image sensor, and image processing engine into a single unit. It comes out more expensive, of course, and only Ricoh does it as of now.
The company plans to display the new P10 and A12 camera units at the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Shot in Yokohama, Japan, from March 11-12, 2010.
