DataRescue has released its PhotoRescue 3.0 for Windows and Mac, a big help for absent-minded photogs who occasionally deletes a photo or two without intending to.
It works with practically all memory cards (SD, CF, MS, MMS, all of them) and this one is even easier to use than its predecessor. The Mac version is now also a Universal Binary for native performance on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs.
It’s a free upgrade for users who bought the previous version after March 15, 2006. Prior to that date, the upgrade fee is $19; new licenses are for $29. There’s a trial version too.
Tip: after you delete a photo and say “Oops!†go straight to PhotoRescue. Don’t use that memory card again until after file recovery. It’s easier to recover deleted files; over-written files are another story.
