At the recently concluded Photokina 2006, Pentax showed prototypes of three new interchangeable digital SLR camera lenses and a medium-format digital SLR camera which are all currently under development.
The lenses, which are exclusively for Pentax DSLR cameras will be available next year. These are: the smc Pentax-DA 16-50mm f/2.8 ED AL [IF] wide-angle zoom lens, the smc Pentax-DA 50-135mm f/2.8 ED [IF] telephoto zoom lens, and the smc Pentax-DA 60-250mm f/4 ED [IF] super telephoto zoom lens.
The company also showed a prototype of the 18-megapixel Pentax 645D medium format DSLR camera. It will use interchangeable lenses with the 645AF mount.
