The European Imaging & Sound Association has named the Nikon D200 as Camera of the Year at EISA’s 2006-2007 Best Products Awards. At the same time, Nikon’s U Point Technology/Capture NX software garnered the Photo Innovation award.

In its citation, EISA praised the Nikon D200 as a DSLR that sets a new standard in its class. “The relationship between price and performance is extremely attractive. The Nikon D200 will satisfy both the advanced amateur and the professional photographer in most areas,” EISA said.

On the U Point Technology which is included in Nikon’s imaging software Capture NX, EISA judges say U Point gives photographers unique tools to control colour tone, hue, brightness, and contrast without the need for any selections or masking.
