Nikon Inc. also introduced today two new Perspective Control lenses, the PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and the PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D.
These new Perspective Control (PC) lenses – also known as tilt/shift lenses – correct linear distortion to better replicate images as seen by the human eye, including straitening the converging lines of rectilinear objects such as buildings, while also introducing welcome command over depth-of-field.
Nikon said the versatility of these lenses makes them the perfect complement for a myriad of applications, including photographing architecture, nature, interiors and still-life—especially product photography.
The PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED will be priced at $1800, while the PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D will have a price tag of $1740 when they come out later in August.
