The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) has announced the selection of Rhonda Shand, an Associate Professor of Art at Pittsburg State University, as the first-ever recipient of the Bruce Fraser Scholarship.

The scholarship honors the legacy of the late Photoshop guru Bruce Fraser. It was established in late 2006 and is to be awarded annually to one exceptional educator who teaches the art of digital photography and Photoshop to the next generation of digital artists. The winner receives round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and a full conference pass to the Photoshop World Conference & Expo, a one-year NAPP membership, and a subscription to Photoshop User magazine.

Rhonda was nominated by photographer, Photoshop instructor, and Adobe digital imaging evangelist Julieanne Kost, who met Rhonda while she was teaching one of the Santa Fe Workshops. Julieanne was impressed with her unique artistic style and background, but it was Rhonda’s dedication to teaching passion for the creative process and her overall willingness to “go an extra mile” to ensure the learning and success of her students.
