The Lacie 2Big Network-Attached Storage device is now shipping, offering a Gigabit Ethernet interface and two disks (up to 2TB) that can be “mirrored†(RAID 1) to ensure data integrity, or “merged†(RAID 0) to allow maximum capacity.
The 2big Network ships with the new LaCie Ethernet Agent for easy configuration and simple data access. It also offers remote access so users can instantly and securely obtain all files stored on the 2big Network situated at the office, with any Internet connection.
The new NAS device is designed by noted industrial designer Neil Poulton. It features an attractive natural cooling heat sink metal design with a thermoregulated progressive smart fan.
The Lacie 2Big Network is available at retail stores in November in 3 capacities: 1TB ($410), 1.5TB ($620) and 2TB ($940).
