Here’s a new publishing idea from JPG Magazine: all its content is generated by its online community of photographers and writers.
JPG, which bills itself as the magazine of brave new photography, is espousing a publishing model that works together with an online community to produce a printed magazine.
Issue 11 of the magazine is now out, and it validates JPG’s success with its new Writing Tools by publishing quality submissions from its users.
Here’s how it works: submit your best photos to jpgmag.com according to the current theme outlined by the magazine. The online community of your fellow photographers will vote on your photo; many votes do not guarantee publication, but it helps. It’s the editors who will make the final selection.
If your photo is published, you get a year’s subscription to the magazine plus $100.
Themes for Issue 12 are Family, Fashion and Creative License.
