Figures from market analyst IDC indicate that Hewlett-Packard continues to dominate the consumer printer market in Asia Pacific, with the Philippines accounting for the highest market share in Southeast Asia.
The IDC study covers research during the first quarter of 2007. It showed that HP had the lionâ€™s share (50%) of the single-function printer (SFP) market in Asia Pacific, up by nine percent from the previous quarter and 14 percent year-on-year.
In Southeast Asiaâ€™s multi-function printer (MFP) market, HP had a 65-percent share in Q1 2007, consolidating its leadership position. Overall, HP’s share grew by 24 percent year-on-year for Asia Pacific.
