Epson today launched two new multimedia viewers, the P-6000 and P-7000, boasting larger drive capacities, faster download speeds and an advanced LCD screen with brilliant color precision. Epson says the new photo viewers are ideal as back-up and viewing solution for photographers on extreme assignments in the tropics or the Arctic.
One new feature that might be worth looking into is Epson’s Photo Fine Premia, a new LCD technology that packs more color gradations on the display for greater dynamic color range than a conventional LCD. Photo Fine Premia uses an innovative, four-color filter system that embeds color elements within one imaging pixel, unlike ordinary LCDs that use only three.
Both the P-6000 and P-7000 feature a 4-inch, 640×480 screen which displays 94% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut. Download speeds, according to Epson are 35 percent faster than previous models.
The 80GB P-6000 and the 160GB P-7000 will be available in September at $600 and $800, respectively.
