DxO Labs has upgraded its image analysis software to include RAW support and other enhancements to its image quality evaluation capabilities.
DxO Analyzer v3 now also includes a broad range of metrics to analyze and qualify photos taken by camera phones and digital cameras. These measurements include color fidelity, white balance accuracy, resolution (MTF) and sharpness, dynamic and tonal range, exposure, noise, flash uniformity, distortion, chromatic aberrations and vignetting.
The software is used by camera makers – like Kodak, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Ricoh, Samsung and Sigma – to evaluate their products before final release to the buying public. It is also resorted to by camera reviewers – like Imaging Resource, SLR Gear, LetsGoDigital, Digit, etc. – to provide objective analysis of the image quality produced by an imaging product under test.
