Canon Updates Firmware for EOS Rebel XTi/400D SLR

Canon Rebel XTi

Canon has released Firmware Version 1.0.5 for the Canon 400D. (a.k.a Rebel XTi), correcting the printing of the lens name when using PictBridge.

With the new firmware, Redeye 1 mode can now be selected when using the PIXMA iP6310D / iP6320D / iP6700D Photo Inkjet Printers, and the reliability of the communication with the optical Speedlite 380EX clip-on flash has also been improved.

The firmware update applies to cameras with firmware versions up to 1.0.4 installed.

How do you know your current firmware version? Turn the Power Switch , and press the button to display the menu. Press the Cross keys, and you will see the “Firmware Ver.X.X.X” at the end of the Set-up 2 shown in yellow, which is the currently installed firmware version number.
