Canon is reportedly recalling the 12-megapixel PowerShot A650 compact camera due to some defect.
According to Pictureline.com early production models of the A650 show unacceptable levels of image distortion due to light leaking when shooting with the Vari-Angle LCD monitor open under sunny skies, where light shines on the back of the camera.
Canon is said to have identified the countermeasures necessary to resolve the problem, and has made the required corrections. Shipments of the corrected PowerShot A650 IS digital camera is expected to begin at the end of October.
Canon is also expected to announce this matter shortly on its own website, according to Pictureline. As of this writing, Canon USA is still mum on the issue.
