Canon USA today announced three new color image scanners – the CanoScan 5600F, CanoScan LiDE200 and CanoScan LiDE100 – featuring the new Auto Scan Mode which recognizes the type of document after pressing a dedicated “SCAN” button, then scan and save the document with the suitable settings automatically.
Canon said consumers will no longer have to determine and select settings such as the document type, resolution or preview and crop images. By using Auto Scan Mode, users can reduce the scanning process from eight steps down to two, according to the company.
The $150 CanoScan 5600F Color Image Scanner is ideally suited for photo archiving; it can scan up to six frames of a 35mm filmstrip or four 35mm slides at a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 9600 dots-per-inch (dpi), while the $90 CanoScan LiDE200 and the $60 LiDE100 Color Image Scanners are compact and stylish for use in the office or at home.
