There’s a new firmware available for the full-frame Canon EOS 5D digital SLR camera. Version 1.1.1 of the firmware update can be downloaded immediately from the Canon Japan website.
The new firmware enables support for high capacity CF cards. It can now correctly detect 8GB, 12GB and 16GB CF cards.
It also now allows the latest lens names – lenses released after the EOS 5D – to be recorded in the Exif information of images taken. These include the EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM, EF 50mm f/1.2L USM, EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lenses.
Additionally, lenses that are compatible with the Digital Photo Professional 3.2 lens aberration correction function have been added. More lenses will be supported by the lens aberration correction function of Digital Photo Professional 3.2, Canon’s RAW image viewer/editing software.
