The TrekStor MovieStation maxi t.u is an external hard drive where you can store your usual files – data, music, movies, photos – but the cool thing about it is that it has its own built-in audio and video player so you can watch movies or see your photos off it by connecting the device to a TV set, no need for a computer.
The MovieStation comes in capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 400GB and 500GB. These are now available at J&R Computer World and Amazon.com. The 250GB TrekStor is priced at $300 while the largest 500GB version sells for $400 and can store 125 movies.
The drive has optical and analog audio outputs along with composite video outputs for playing content on any stereo or compatible television.
Of course, it connects to computers too; how else can you download those movies and pics? It’s friendly with nearly all flavors of Windows, OS X and Linux and can play MPEG1/2/4, AVI, DivX, XviD, MP3, WMA, WAV, and OGG file formats by itself. It even supports high-definition TV viewing; the composite output supports 1080i HD video.
Photographers may find it very useful as storage for tons of photos.
