ASUS has a new line of bigger notebooks sporting 15.6- and 17.3-inch screens and their own built-in numpads, powered by new processors from either Intel or AMD. The new ASUS notebooks include the U50VG, K50AB, K50IJ and K70AB models.
Let’s take a look at one, the ASUS U50VG-XX060C. It has a screen size of 15.6 inches with 1366 x 768 resolution, 4GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce G 105M 512MB graphics card and is powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz processor.
Its capacious 250GB hard drive may be enough for the casual user, but the avid photographer might need an external drive with this for extra storage. The U50VG also boasts an HDMI port, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and WiFi b/g/n. The backlit keyboard is chiclet-style, like the ones you see on Apple Mac keyboards. The UV50G will first be available in Italy, priced at €943.20, including tax, or about $1,320 USD.
