The Angkor Photography Festival is now in full swing in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This is Southeast Asia’s first annual photography event and it brings together “famous and passionate photographers of diverse nationalities and cultures in the spirit of creativity and sharing.†Hundreds of photographers, editors and photography enthusiasts are attending the photofest along with numerous international renowned photographers.
The festival features print exhibitions and outdoor projections by renowned artists and photo-journalists, but differentiates itself from other photo shows with its strong humanitarian goals. By offering free workshops for young Asian photographers and developing outreach projects for disenfranchised Cambodian youth, participants contribute their art and their time, demonstrating that photography can change lives.
Among the presenters are Pablo Bartholomew, James Delano, Agnes Dherbeys, Sherman Ong, Jack Picone, Kuwabara Shisei, Hosoe Eikoh, Yamamoto Yoko, Eric Rechsteiner, Sugimoto Hiroshi, Jan Banning, Achinto Bhadra, Ed Kashi, and many other international photographers.
The Angkor Photography Festival started last Saturday, November 25 and will culminate on Friday December 1.
