French photojournalist Alexandra Boulat died today in a Paris hospital. She was 45. She has been coma since late June after she suffered a stroke caused by aneurism.
Boulat was one of the founding members of the VII agency and pursued conflict photography, covering the wars in Kosovo and the Middle East, among others.
Boulat suffered a brain hemorrhage while on assignment in Ramallah, Iraq.
She was the daughter of Life magazine photographer Pierre Boulat and Annie Boulat, the founder of the French photography agency Cosmos.
