A Lamp to Display Your Favorite Photo

DIY Lamp

Notice how bright and colorful a picture is when you hold it up to the light? You can use that simple idea to create something really useful and artistic: a do-it-yourself night lamp that displays your favorite photo or art print.

You can make this on your own with just a few readily available materials: a light bulb and socket, some electrical wires, a mayonnaise glass jar and of course, your favorite picture.

There’s a complete set of instructions on how to do this at DoDesignDIY.com. The website walks you through the process with pictures to make the instructions even clearer, along with a few tips on how to make it really artistic and truly your own.

My own tip: use cooler light source if you’re in tropical clime. A CFL or LED lamp would be perfect.
