1000Words.net: Should Photos Go with Words?

If a picture paints a thousand words, then why say it still?

“A Picture’s Worth” was launched three years ago as a project to highlight the emotions and memories triggered by a photograph of personal significance. By inspiring people to bring out the meaning or story behind a personal photograph, the website provides a haven for people to truly “show and tell”.

Already, it has accumulated a good collection of personal photographs and intimate stories, offering insights into other people’s emotions and memories. It’s a photo-sharing site for people with stories to tell.

There is of course another view that says photographs can tell stories by themselves, without need for caption or accompanying text. By following this, you become a better photographer. By composing a few lines to go with a photo, you become a better writer. Either way, you become better.
