Photo merchandising is becoming big business in North America. It is growing fast at 24.5% each year and is expected to gross $800 million in 2010.

This is according to a study by InfoTrends which also showed that consumers tend to buy their photo gifts in-store. Internet purchases however are gaining momentum and will soon surpass in-store retail photo merchandise.

Last year, 3.5 million U.S. households made photo gift purchases using the Internet. These photo merchandise include photo calendars and greeting cards, photo mugs and books, and photo enlargements.
