A Mac version of Nikon Capture NX had been demoed at CES 2007, featuring full support for Intel-based Mac OS X computers. The Capture NX image editing software, with its innovative U Point algorithm, boasts a point-and-click ability to enhance specific areas of a picture selectively, without the use of masks, selections, or layers and has earned praise for it. It’s almost like working with a magic wand for photo enhancement.
In addition to Intel-based Mac compatibility, the user interface has been improved and updated to enable quicker and easier work. There’s resizable histograms and curves & levels palette thrown in as added improvements.
Novice users will benefit from the simple U Point interface of Capture NX, while professional and advanced photographers will find it useful to streamline the image editing workflow. It will sell for $150 as soon as it comes out of beta.
