Camera maker Canon has entered the portable media player market by way of its Canon Media Storage M80 device.
Designed specially for EOS camera owners, the M80 boasts of a large ultra-bright 3.7-inch TFT screen with 160º viewing angle for image and video review, and an 80GB hard disk to store digital images, movie and sound files of various file formats. Its navigation menu will be familiar to Canon EOS photographers. The Canon M80’s tough magnesium alloy body has slots for CF and SD cards and a high-speed USB 2.0 interface.
“As well as extending pro photographer back-up and storage capacity, there is no doubt the Canon M80 will appeal to amateur photographers looking for more flexible, enjoyable and portable alternatives to the traditional photo album,” says Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe.
Aside from the M80, Canon also released the M30 with 30GB of storage capacity.
