Microsoft Live Labs Photosynth Preview

Microsoft Reasearch has teamed up with the Univeristy of Washington to develop Photosynth, “… an amazing new technology from Microsoft Live Labs that will change the way you think about digital photos forever.”

The software application, which was demonstrated yesterday at SIGGRAPH 2006 in Boston, has the ability to analyze large collections of digital photos and detect similarities between them! This enables Photosynth to automatically combine the given photos in a 3D environment, allowing the user to browse seamlessly between photos, zooming in or out, giving the impression of really being there.

Be sure to visit their website http://labs.live.com/photosynth/ for more info and an amazing preview video.
