The LaCie 2big Triple hard drive, designed by Neil Poulton, has won a trophy as the Best Storage Back-up Solution from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).
“Since its release, the 2big Triple has won a number of design awards from international competitions such as Red Dot and iF,†said Eric Vermelle, LaCie Marketing Director. “This is the first honor the 2big has received based on quality, performance and value.â€
The LaCie 2big Triple is a storage device with separate FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB 2.0 interfaces for high-speed data transfer. Available in capacities from 1 to 2 terabytes, the 2big Triple can be individually configured for performance (RAID 0) and safety (RAID 1). When set for RAID 1, the unit is hot-swappable and upon insertion of a new drive, will automatically rebuild data for non-stop data access, according to LaCie.
The LaCie 2big Triple is available starting at $350 for 1TB.
