Fujifilm UK has unveiled the new FinePix F47fd, updating the range of their face detection-equipped digital cameras from the F31fd and F40fd earlier models.
The hardware-based face detection technology, pioneered by Fujifilm, recognizes people in the scene and appropriately adjusts settings to capture the best shot with correct skin tones.
The 9-megapixel F47fd with 2.5-inch LCD continues the highly successful F-Series of Fujifilm compacts that go back to the F10, F20 and the F30. It then made the transition to F31fd with the added face detection. The F-Series cameras have elicited good reviews for their ability to shoot in low light conditions.
The new F47fd claims ISO 2000 sensitivity, but I won’t count on it. Experience tells us to be quite conservative on this; ISO 800 or 1600 is very good enough.
