Extensis is offering free plug-ins for font activation and deactivation in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator CS3. With the plug-ins, the exact fonts are automatically and accurately activated or deactivated any time these design applications are opened.
The free plug-ins will be available for download from the Extensis website in the coming months. They support Suitcase Fusion, Suitcase for Windows, Suitcase Server and Font Reserve Server.
The ability to automatically activate and deactivate fonts is possible through Font Sense technology, which ensures a smooth workflow by identifying, locating, and activating the exact fonts used in a document. Because of this, Extensis font managers no longer simply identify fonts by name; they create unique identifiers that guarantee font fidelity.
