The Canon Selphy CP740 compact photo printer measures 7 x 2.5 inches and weighs a hefty 2.1 lbs. (almost 1kg). It offers the digital photographer – especially scrapbookers and maybe a few real estate agents – the convenience of a go-anywhere printer.
It’s like bringing your own personal photo lab. You can even print without using a computer because it’s Pictbridge compliant. Just connect your Pictbridge-supported digital camera and you’re good to go. Even better, just take out the memory card from your camera and stick it into the printer’s memory slot and print away.
The Selphy CP740 supports all the major memory card formats: Compact Flash, Microdrive, xD-Picture Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick DUO, Memory Stick Micro, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Pro DUO, MultiMediaCard, MMCmicro, MMCmobile, MMCplus, SD Memory Card, microSD, miniSD card, SDHC, microSDHC, miniSDHC and RS-MMC.
This new Canon printer spews out 4†x 6†borderless prints in just a minute, and, if you use Canon’s own paper and ink, it can make prints that last a hundred years.
The Canon Selphy CP740 will be available this fall for a hundred dollars.
