Taiwan-based BenQ has stepped out of the camera business and has left its camera division in the hands of Ability Enterprises, but that doesn’t stop the BenQ brand from coming out into the market. After all there were a few good cameras in the pipeline when they called it quits.
BenQ Europe recently released the BenQ DC-E1000 compact camera (doesn’t it bear more than a passing resemblance with the Samsung NV15?) packing ten megapixels, a 3.0†LCD screen and image stabilization.
The E1000 also claims ISO 1600 but we have learned to be quite conservative about such pronouncements from camera manufacturers.
The new BenQ camera will first be available in China this month.
